Road Riding in WV
This year I'm getting back on the bike - literally.

Captain Cooper Cat goes cycling in WV
#TB to 2015 for the MS150 Country Roads in Greenbrier County, WV
One of my goals for this year is to get out and bike ride a whole lot more. Before living aboard a sailboat,I used to ride as much as possible, mostly on the rails to trails in Morgantown, WV or as a way to commute to my college classes.

While living aboard, there wasn't enough space to have my bike with enough space for our charter guests to feel comfortable --  unless I left it outside - which I couldn't let happen.

As per my Dad's suggestion, I joined a local cycling team in the DC area where I hope to be able to meet other cyclist and learn about their routes throughout the city. They have a limited amount of rides scheduled this winter, however with my weekend work schedule and low, icy temperatures, I will be waiting a few more weeks before joining their rides. #cannotwait!

Until then, I have been researching places to ride near me, including the C&O Canal trail that runs roughly 185 miles from Cumberland, MD to DC. I plan on making it a three day ride camping along the trail that I will do sometime near the end of this coming Spring.

A few years ago I rode about 70 miles of the C&O with one overnight but this year I plan on riding the whole thing. Along with a C&O trail book I picked up a few years ago, I have been using this site to help with some of my trip planning: http://bikewashington.org/canal/index.php
