Thursday marked the start of a family road trip to WV with Stephanie and her parents. So far they have visited some of her favorite restaurants in the Keys, watched some amazing Key sunsets, and did some sailing on Morning Dance!
Stephanie's Dad flew in to the keys to help crew / cook for her last charter before she headed home for the summer. They had a great family on board and were able to get to a few snorkel sites in between the rain drops and some sailing from Marathon to Islamorada!
On our last day sailing in Marathon on a scout trip, what was supposed to be a leisurely day of snorkeling and sailing, turned into an adventure-filled ending that brought together the crews sailing skills and teamwork that we had been working towards all week! Once heading out of the 7mile bridge, Morning Dance's engine decided to take a break allowing the crew to go under full sail in just seconds! After getting to the dock and doing a fuel filter change she was back in business for the next adventure.
As we finish our last charter of the season together, we have been enjoying teaching and sailing the keys with our guests! We will each be spending time with our families this summer in MN and WV before coming back in the Fall and continuing ASA charters with Island Dreamer Sailing School.
Stephanie will be heading to WV to work on her Tanzer 26 getting it ready to come down to Miami next year and working on her 3D interior renderings while Derrek will be working in MN and WI at a local sailing school teaching ASA courses.
